Rileys is NOT “AUTHORIZED” to shuttle autos, equipment or people in or out of the Buffalo Nat’l River Park.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Arrange for your AUTO SHUTTLE or PICK-UP with a Buffalo River Authorized Concessionaire.

Ask them to shuttle your vehicle to Rileys

When you reach the end of the BUFFALO RIVER and before crossing the WHITE RIVER…

  1. Gather your paddling group over toward RIVER LEFT (eddy water) at the mouth of the Buffalo, when you reach the confluence of the White. The “head” of Smith Island will be directly across the channel of the White.

  2. WATCH FOR JON BOATS, then carefully enter the current of the White River with the front of your boat angled into the current.  Diligently paddle across the upper channel of the White to the HEAD OF SMITH ISLAND.

  3. If the White River is running high and strong… Look for the highwater cut-through on the head of Smith Island and paddle through the cut-through where you will see Rileys directly in front of you. Do not float into the dock or try to land at the dock.

  4. If the White River is running lower and slower… paddle or pull your boat up and around the head of Smith Island.  There, you will see Rileys off to your right and down stream on the other side of the island.  Float to the LANDING directly behind the DOCK.  Do not float into the dock or try to land at the dock.

  5. The LANDING RAMP is directly behind Rileys DOCK.

  6. After landing…Please move your gear over to the side to make room for other floaters.

  7. Drive your vehicle to the water’s edge and pick-up your gear.

  8. Do not forget to pay for your landing…$5 per boat

  9. Trash and Recycle is at the exit gate as you leave Rileys.
